Over 2.5 (-110), Under 2.5 (-110)
Hellas Verona is welcoming Napoli to Marc Antonio Bentegodi in round 27 of Italian Serie A.
Verona is having a fantastic season and they lost only 1 of their last 10 games. In their first game since the restart, Verona was playing against Cagliari at home. In that match, Verona has had 47% of ball possession, 4 shots on goal, 1 corner kicks, and 82% of the correct passes. The first half was quite eventful in this game when we saw 3 goals, 3 yellow cards, and 1 red card for Verona. In the second half, we didn’t see any goals but saw another 4 yellow cards and 1 more red card, but this time on Cagliari’s side. Verona has won this game 2-1. Verona is in 7th place in the standings with 38 points, 31 scored goals, and 27 conceded goals, an excellent defense, one of the best in Serie A. Di Carmine has scored 5 goals for Verona this season, while Pazzini added 4 goals. Darko Lazovic has added 6 assists. Eysseric is injured, while Borini is suspended because of the red card. Verona is still dreaming of the Europa League, but I don’t see them getting there because they lack offense, but who knows, anything is possible in modern-day soccer.
Napoli still hasn’t played a Serie A game, but they played two Coppa Italia games and Napoli won the Coppa Italia title against Juventus. In the Serie A standings, Napoli is in 6th place with only 39 points, but before the season was paused, Napoli’s form was on the rise, and I hope they can continue at the same pace after the restart. Offensively, Napoli is having a good season with 41 scored goals, but their defense hasn’t been that good with 36 conceded goals. Arek Milik has scored 9 goals for Napoli this season, while Mertens added 6 goals and 4 assists. Callejon and Insigne both have 6 assists. Roberto Inglese is the only injured player for Napoli. In their last Coppa Italia game against Juventus, Napoli has had 46% of ball possession, 7 shots on goal, 5 corner kicks, and 89% of the correct passes. There were no goals in the regular time, nor the overtime, despite both teams having some good chances. In the end, Napoli has won the title in the penalty shootout. Napoli changed coach in the middle of the season, and hiring Gattuso might have a been a home run because Napoli is getting that warrior charisma, but they are still far away from the Champions League, huge 12 points, but there are enough games left for Napoli to turn things around. Speaking of the Champions League, Napoli is still playing the second leg of Round of 16 against Barcelona in August. The first leg ended in a 1-1 draw.
Verona hasn’t won any of their last 6 games against Napoli, while Napoli hasn’t lost any of their last 7 games. Napoli is the better team here, but Verona was known to surprise the big teams this season and to beat Napoli at home. I think I will take a shot at goals here.
