Leicester City host Brighton in Premier League action at the King Power Stadium on Tuesday afternoon.
Brighton are just coming off an incredible upset against Arsenal, beating the Gunners in the 90+5th minute 2-1. Brighton are coming into this match in 15th place, after having fought out of the relegation zone. The Seagulls will want to continue to play the way they did in that second half against Arsenal as they still need to secure a few more points in order to ensure their safety. Brighton's performance against Arsenal will give them confidence as they were able to get many set pieces from corners, having had 10 corners in the match. They also made a lot out of only having 42% possession, being able to have 11 shots, 6 of which were on target. Will the Seagulls be able to cause another upset, but now against the 3rd team in the league, or will they be put back into their place?
Leicester City come into this match 3rd on the league table, very far behind both Manchester City and Liverpool. The foxes will be very disappointed with their last result on Saturday as they drew 1-1 away from home against Watford. Leicester had 15 shots, but only 2 of which were on target. This did not look like the Leicester City side we saw before the break and they will want to get rid of any rust they may have. It seemed as if Leicester were going to steal the match when Ben Chilwell scored in the 90th minute on Saturday, but poor defensive concentration and lack of effort allowed Watford to steal a point in the 90+3rd minute. Leicester will want to make sure they bounce back after a tough draw.
This is really a mismatch in my opinion. Brighton are of course coming off an incredible upset against Arsenal and have some momentum behind them, but this is not Arsenal they are going to face again. Arsenal are very lackluster and Leicester City are the complete opposite. The Foxes are very hungry to show us that they are still a title contender, of course not this season, but for next year. Brighton will struggle here, and Leicester will pounce on their mistakes. There will be plenty of goals, and Leicester will score most of them.
