Brescia is hosting Genoa at Stadio Mario Rigamonti in round 28 of Italian Serie A.
Brescia hasn’t been playing well dating back to late December of last year, and their bad form continues even now after the restart of the season. Brescia is in the last place in the standings with only 17 points, and I’m sorry to say, but Brescia will get relegated toe Serie B. with only 23 scored goals, and 50 conceded goals, Brescia has one of the worst offenses and defenses in Serie A. in their last Serie A game against Fiorentina on the road, Brescia has had 43% of ball possession, 3 shots on goal, 2 corner kicks, and 74% of the correct passes. Brescia got ahead early, in 17th minute from a penalty kick, but Fiorentina has tied the game before the half-time and this match ended in a 1-1 draw. Balotelli and Donnarumma are Brescia’s top goal scorers with 5 goals each. Bisoli, Cistana, Ndoj, Chancellor, and Alfonso are all injured, and they will not be playing in this game. Theoretically, Brescia still has a chance to get outside the relegation zone, but for that to happen something major should change in their game and Brescia would need to win most of their last 10 games of the season.
In their first game back after the break, Genoa was playing against Parma, and they got demolished at home. Genoa has had 56% of ball possession, 3 shots on goal, 1 corner kick, and 86% of the correct passes in this game. Genoa’s defense was criminally bad in this game, and despite having 2 penalty kicks, Genoa has lost this game 1-4. With 25 points, 32 scored goals, and 51 conceded goals, Genoa is in 17th place in the standings, outside the relegation zone, but with the same amount of points as Lecce one spot beneath them. Criscitio and Padev have both scored 7 goals for Genoa this season, Ghiglione added 5 assists. Radovanovic is the only injured player for Genoa. Last week against Parma, Genoa was a big favorite, but they got beaten badly, this week Genoa is also a favorite, but so is everyone else against Brescia. Genoa is a solid team that got caught in a bad spell, but if they want to stay outside the relegation zone, Genoa must start winning some games, and there is no better place for that than against the weakest team in Serie a.
Brescia hasn’t won any of their last 13 games, and any of their last 6 home games. Genoa is the better team here, and despite them losing their last game in Serie A, I will side with Genoa in this one. I’m not expecting a good game, but I think Genoa will finally get a win.
