Manchester United host Bournemouth on Saturday, July 4th at Old Trafford in what is a desperate match for Southampton.
Manchester United has been superb as of late, being in control of all of their matches since the restart. Manchester United beat Brighton on Tuesday in dominant fashion, winning 3-0. Mason Greenwood opened the scoring in the 16th minute, but then Bruno Fernandes and Paul Pogba were the reason for the 3-0 victory. Fernandes is just superb for United. The Portuguese star can shoot from anywhere, he can pass from anywhere, and he is the heart of the United team. Pogba has also been superb, getting involved in assisting Fernandes multiple times. United seems to be back on track and it will be interesting to see how they will improve the team after the season is done. United are looking to surpass Chelsea and Leicester on the table to secure a Champions League spot, and if they keep playing how they have recently, they are very likely to do so.
Bournemouth are desperate for points are they are in 19th place in the league. With 6 games left, Bournemouth need all the points they can get, but absolute destruction by Newcastle earlier in the week will have shattered their hope. Newcastle won 4-1 against Bournemouth and showcased the wide gaps in the Bournemouth backline. Bournemouth will know they won't get anything from this match against Manchester United, however, they can still try to better communicate as a team to ensure better performances in the last few Premier League matches.
The reverse fixture of this match was a shocking Bournemouth 1-0 victory. United were not in their best form back then and they are definitely much better now. United are the heavy favorites for this match and rightly so. It is hard for me to see anything other than a United victory. United could win this match 4-0, or 1-0, you never really know with United. But I think that this is going to be a solid 2-0 victory for the Red Devils. Take United -1.5 to be safe rather than taking the correct scoreline.
