Norwich City host Brighton on Saturday, July 4th at Carrow Road as Norwich is looking more and more likely to have no chance of getting out of the relegation zone.
Norwich City had an absolutely terrible game against Arsenal on Wednesday, being destroyed by the Gunners 4-0. Norwich had no chance of winning that match in the first place, but losing it 4-0 was a scoreline that many did not imagine. Norwich is just not good in defending, and they are not good on counter-attacks either. When you are not playing possession football, you need to rely on your ability to steal the ball in your defense and get up the pitch quickly to score. However, Norwich does not have that and they are going to have to find a miracle if they are going to stay in the Premier League this season. With only 5 wins this season, Norwich will not win any matches in the near future in my opinion.
Brighton have been quite solid since the return of the Premier League, first winning 2-1 against Arsenal, then drawing 0-0 against Leicester, and most recently losing 3-0 to Manchester United. The 4 points gained from those matches has allowed Brighton to distance themselves from the relegation zone and they are most likely going to stay in the Premier League next year. Brighton are good, but they played their last game without their talisman Maupay upfront. Without Maupay, they are not as threatening. Maupay will need to be back in the starting lineup if they are to make anything happen in their next few games.
The reverse fixture of this match was an absolute Brighton domination. Norwich lost 2-0 and did not even get a shot on target. On the other hand, Brighton had 8 shots on target and 59% possession. Norwich of course have more to play for here as they are desperate to gain points, however, it just seems too far out of their reach. Brighton will dominate possession and make the most of the gaps in the Norwich defense. Expect an easy Brighton victory in my opinion.
