Udinese is welcoming Genoa to Dacia Arena in round 30 in Italian Serie A.
After two losses in their first two games since the restart, Udinese has finally won a game, and they did in in style against Roma on the road. Udinese has had 48% of ball possession in that game, 3 shots on goal, 7 corner kicks, and 85% of the correct passes. With one goal in each half, Udinese has won this game 0-2. Udinese is now in 15th place with 31 points, just 6 points above the relegation zone, but this win has given a lot of confidence to Udinese and I believe they have enough quality to stay in Serie A next season as well. Of course, there are a lot of games left, but I have faith in Udinese. With only 25 scored goals, Udinese is one of the weakest offensive teams in Serie A, and that is something they need to try to improve as soon as possible. Kevin Lasagna has scored 7 goals for Udinese so far this season, while De Paul and Okaka added 5 goals each. Fofana added 5 assists, while De Paul added 4 assists. Prodl and Mandragora are both injured, while Lasagna is questionable, but should be ready for this game. The good news for Udinese is that the rest of the teams in or close to the relegation zone are more or less the same quality or even worse than Udinese. I like their chances of staying in Serie A next season.
Genoa is not playing well, and they conceded 9 goals in their last 3 games while scoring 4 goals. Before the break, Genoa was in solid form, but now they are just one point above the relegation zone, in 17th place with only 26 points. With massive 56 conceded goals overall this season, Genoa is a bad, bad defensive team, one of the worst in Serie A. in their last match against Juventus, Genoa played as expected, with low possession and they were forced to defend for the entire game. Genoa has had only 36% of ball possession, 2 shots on goal, 2 corner kicks, and 82% of the correct passes. In the first half, Genoa was solid, but they fell apart in the second half and Genoa has lost this game 1-3. Of the 35 goals that Genoa has scored this season, Criscito and Pandev have scored 7 goals each, while Kouame added 5 goals. Ghiglione assisted for 5 goals. Radovanovic is injured, while Criscito is questionable. Lasses Schone is suspended because of the yellow cards. Genoa has spent most of the season playing in a bad form, and they will continue to do so until the end, but the problem is that it could cost them their Serie A spot.
When playing at home, Udinese hasn’t lost to Genoa in their last 4 games, but Genoa hasn’t lost any of their last 5 away games. I will side with Udinese at home because they are confident after their win against Roma and they will look to get further from the relegation zone with another win here.
