17th in the league, Watford, hosts 20th in the league, Norwich City, in what is a battle of the relegation zone. Will Watford finally distance themselves from the bottom 3 in the league, or will Norwich make their bid in what they hope is a miracle of last 5 games?
Watford lost to Chelsea on Saturday in a 3-0 defeat and they are still facing the relegation zone. Watford are hanging on by a thread, being only 1 point ahead of 18th and 19th place having 28 points. Watford would be a shocking loss to the Premier League as they have been a very consistent mid-table team for many many years, however, they will need to turn their engines on in order to ensure their survival. Watford will be happy to be facing Norwich as they are going to be very confident in claiming all 3 points on Tuesday.
Norwich City has just been terrible all season. With 21 points and in last place in the league, Norwich are not helping themselves by losing tight games against teams such as Brighton. Norwich had the majority of possession, had 11 shots, but only one was on target. Although Brighton only had 7 shots, 2 of which were on target, they were more clinical in the final third. Norwich have to understand that it's not how much possession you have, its about what you do with that possession. I do not see Norwich winning any of their remaining 5 games in the Premier League and they will definitely be relegated.
The reverse fixture between these two teams ended in a 2-0 Watford victory. I would be shocked if this was not the same result. It is clear that although Norwich are good at having the majority of possession in many of their matches, when they lose the ball, they do not know how to defend. Watford had 35% possession in their last meeting and had 2 shots on target, but still managed to win the match. Expect Watford to claim all 3 points and make a bid to save themselves from relegation.
