Arsenal host Liverpool on Wednesday, July 15th at the Emirates Stadium. Arsenal look to salvage their season, whilst Liverpool begin to wind down as they have nothing left to do this season in any competition.
Arsenal had a mere on Sunday, losing in the North London Derby 2-1 to Spurs. Arsenal opened the scoring with an incredible shot from outside the box by Alexander Lacazette in the 16th minute, however, 3 minutes later, they let an easy Son change go through the goal to make the game 1-1. Arsenal were the vastly superior team in that match, especially in the second half, but the issue of Arsenal not being able to convert their chances resulted in Spurs finding a goal in the 81st minute and stealing the 3 points. Arsenal are not desperate for as many points as possible in these last 3 matches as they need to make the top 6 if they want to play European football next season.
Liverpool's record of winning all home Premier League matches in over a year came to an end last week as Brighton secured a draw at Anfield. Brighton played very solid and in the second half they were able to capitalise on a Liverpool mistake to end the match 1-1. Liverpool have not been putting their best foot forward as of recent as they do not really care after having won the league. Liverpool has no more competitions to play in after the Premier League and I do not see them putting all their effort into something that they have already won.
The reverse fixture between these two sides ended in a 3-1 Liverpool victory. Liverpool obviously have the better team, but as of recent, they have not been playing as good as they should. Liverpool will not give it 110% in these last 3 matches and Arsenal on the other hand, will. Arsenal need all the points they can get here and I think the +285 looks interesting to me. Arsenal played incredibly well against Tottenham, and if they can convert their chances against Liverpool they have a good chance of winning it.
