Everton host Aston Villa on Thursday, July 16th at Goodison Park in what is going to be a tight battle for Aston Villa to get themselves in a position where they can get out of the relegation zone.
Aston Villa finally got a positive result in the Premier League after beating Crystal Palace 2-0. Villa needed those points and this has allowed them to be 4 points away Watford who are 17th in the league. Villa will want to make sure they can get the maximum amount of points out of these last 3 matches in the Premier League. Will Aston Villa pull off a miracle and save themselves this year, or will they have a tough day at Goodison Park and perhaps secure their relegation? This is going to be a tight match and it will be interesting to see how Everton play against a desperate Villa.
Everton was absolutely destroyed by Wolves on Sunday, losing 3-0 at home. Everton were very solid at the restart of the Premier League, but they seem to have fallen off a bit. Everton were defending solidly in the first half, until the end of the half when they have away a penalty. This opened the doors for Wolves and they never looked back since. Everton have nothing to play for in these last 3 matches and it will be interesting to see how much effort they put in the match when they know that the team needs the points much more than they do.
The reverse fixture between these two sides ended in an Aston Villa victory with a 2-0 scoreline. Aston Villa would be extremely happy if they were able to get that result again, and to be quite honest I think there is a chance of that happening. Aston Villa know that if they are to get a lot of points out of these last 3 matches, they are going to need to do it here at Everton as they face Arsenal in their following match. I would take Aston Villa at +270 as I do not see Everton giving it their all.
