West Ham host Watford on Friday, July 17th at London Stadium in what is going to be a very tight encounter near the bottom of the Premier League table.
West Ham United were very confident in their defeat of Norwich City earlier in the week, beating the bottom team in the league 4-0. West Ham have been in quite good form since the restart of the Premier League, and they have been able to beat the likes of Chelsea. West Ham, earlier in the week, however, were lead by one man, Michael Antonio. Antonio scored all 4 goals against Norwich City and he put in a performance of a lifetime. Antonio will remember that match for the rest of his life, however, they need to make sure they are focused on what is in front of them on Friday as this could give either team a bigger threat of relegation.
Watford defeated Newcastle United in their last Premier League game, winning 2-1. This victory gave them a breath of fresh air as they are a bit safe from relegation. Troy Deeney was the man for Watford earlier in the week, gaining two penalty's and converting them to give Watford the needed 3 points. Watford are only 3 points clear and they have a game in hand so if they get a victory here they are definitely safe from relegation in my opinion. West Ham, however, is in the exact same position with the exact same points. Watford are going to need to bring their A-game if they want to make sure they stay in the Premier League.
The reverse fixture between these two sides ended in a 3-1 West Ham victory. This is going to be an incredibly tight match, with both teams having many scoring opportunities. However, this is the business end of the season, and with both these teams focused on getting points, it is hard for me to see either of them open up play as much as they would have earlier in the season. I think both teams would be happy just to take a point here and have a 4 point gap from the relegation zone. Take the draw at +205.
