Brescia is hosting Parma at Stadio Mario Rigamonti in round 36 in Italian Serie A.
Brescia is officially done, and they are getting relegated. With only 24 points, Brescia is in 19th place, 12 points away from the safe zone, and with only 9 possible points left to be won, Brescia doesn’t have a chance to get out of the relegation zone. Brescia is among the weakest offensive Serie A teams with only 33 scored goals, while their defense is even worse with 74 conceded goals. In their last game against Lecce on the road, Brescia has had 46% of ball possession, 3 shots on goal, 10 corner kicks, and 82% of the correct passes. Brescia could lose this game if they wanted to stay in play to get out of the relegation zone, but they did lose 3-1, and with this loss, their season is over. Donnarumma is Brescia’s top goalscorer with 7 goals, while Torregrossa added 6 goals. Sandro Tonali added 6 assists. Cistana, Bisoli, and Skrabb are all injured and will not be in the lineup. Brescia was the newcomer to Serie A this season, but because they don’t have the depth or the quality, Brescia will go back where they came from, to Serie B, where they will win plenty of games and be dominant against many of the teams.
I was expecting from Parma to have a good game against Napoli a few days ago, and they did even better. Parma has had 31% of ball possession, 3 shots on goal, 3 corner kicks, and 80% of the correct passes. Just by looking at the stats, you would ask me what in the world are you talking about, but Parma has played a fantastic game where they were compact and focused on the defensive end, and they still managed to get two penalty kicks, which they converted into goals. Parma has won this game 2-1. Parma is in 12th place in the standings with 43 points, 49 scored goals, and 51 conceded goals. Parma can’t get to the Europa League or be relegated this season, but with another win or two, Parma could climb the standings a few spots, but it doesn’t really matter. Cornelius has scored 11 goals for Parma so far this season, while Kulusevski added 8 goals and 7 assists. Gervinho has 7 goals and 5 assists. Scozzarella and Cornelius are both injured, while Kucka is still questionable. Parma is a dangerous team and they have scored at least 1 goal in their last 10 games since the restart, but Parma has also conceded at least 1 goal in those 10 games. With a few more additions to the team on the defensive end, Parma could be a competitor for the Europa League next season, and I hope they do because Parma deserved it.
A win here wouldn’t impact any of the teams, but Brescia has not lost to Parma at home in their last 4 games. With Parma’s shaky defense and fantastic offense, I will pick something on goals here.
