RB Leipzig and Paris Saint-Germain are clashing at Estadio do Sport Lisboa e Benfica in the Semifinals of the Champions League.

Leipzig wasn’t the favorite against Atletico Madrid in the quarterfinals, but they were outstanding, and Leipzig has absolutely deserved to be here. In that match, Leipzig has had 57% of ball possession, 4 shots on goal, 3 corner kicks, 2 big chances created, and solid 86% of the correct passes. With a goal in the 50th and in the 88th minute, Leipzig has won this match 2-1. Bundesliga was solid for Leipzig this season where they ended in third place, and Leipzig will be playing in the Champions League next season as well. Sabitzer, Forsberg, and Werner have all scored 4 goals for Leipzig in the Champions League, but Werner is no longer at the club. Sabitzer also added 3 assists. Konate is the only injured player for Leipzig, while there are no suspensions, but Sabitzer is in danger of being suspended. Leipzig is a fantastic team, and with a few more additions, they will be a bigger threat to Bayern’s reign in Bundesliga, but with just a little bit of luck, Leipzig could go all the way in the Champions League this season. The biggest advantage for Leipzig is that they have probably the best young coach in the world and that this semi-final is being played on only 1 game.

PSG has now played a solid amount of games and has won them all. Even though PSG has played only 3 competitive games since the season was paused back in March, PSG has won two trophies, Coupe de France, and Coupe de la Ligue. In the Champions League, PSG was playing against Atalanta in the quarterfinals last week. PSG was the dominant team in that game with 63% of ball possession, 6 shots on goal, 3 corner kicks, 5 big chances created, and solid 85% of the correct passes. After conceding a goal in the 26th minute, PSG was pressing hard, but they just couldn’t find the way to the net. Time was running out, chances were wasted, but in the 90th minute, Atalanta’s defense lost focus and PSG finally scored a tying goal. By that point, Atalanta’s players were barely standing on the field, and PSG used that to the advantage. In the 93rd minute, PSG scored another goal and has won this match 1-2. Icardi and Mbappe have both scored 5 goals for PSG in the Champions League, Neymar added 3 goals, while Di Maria and Sarabia both have 2 goals. Mbappe added 5 assists, Di Maria added 4 while Neymar has 3 assists. Kurzawa is now the only injured player for PSG. It’s clear that the biggest threat comes from Mbappe, and now that he is healthy, he will be the biggest danger for Leipzig. There are a lot of threats coming from PSG, and it’s impossible to stop them all. This is the golden opportunity for PSG to finally win the Champions League because there is no Real Madrid, no Barcelona, no Juventus, the only big team left is Bayern, who are playing fantastic soccer. PSG is the favorite in this match, but they better be careful and not get ahead of themselves.

Leipzig and PSG played only once in the past, and that was a friendly match that Leipzig won. PSG is the better team offensively, but we know they are prone to making mistakes, which Leipzig will know to use. I’m leaning towards PSG because they have the offensive line like no one else, but Leipzig could surprise here. I will pick something on goals here.
