Italy is hosting Bosnia & Herzegovina at Stadio Artemio Franchi in round 1 in the UEFA Nations League.
Italy has been playing fantastic soccer, and they have won 11 straight games, while not losing any of their last 14 games. In the Euro Cup qualifications, Italy has won their group with 30 points, 37 scored goals, and only 4 conceded goals, with 10 wins in 10 games. In the Euro Cup next year, Italy will play in Group A with Turkey, Wales, and Switzerland. In their last match against Armenia, Italy was dominant with 71% of ball possession, 12 shots on goal, 5 corner kicks, 11 big chances created, and 90% of the correct passes. Italy didn’t need anything from this match, but they still played as their lives depend on this game, and I love it. Italy has won this match 9-1. First of all, Italy is led by Roberto Mancini and Italian expert who has won a lot of trophies in his career, while their team is filled with a lot of talented players. Immobile, Insigne, Chiesa, Zaniolo, Pellegrini, Donnarumma are just some of the Italian players who are the main players in their clubs. I like Italy, and they are playing differently than in the past, and I think Italy will be a real threat to anyone in the Euro Cup next year.
Bosnia is not a bad team, but they were not able to qualify for the Euro Cup. In their Group J in the qualifications, Bosnia has had 4 wins, 1 draw, and 5 losses, which was enough for 13 points and 4th place in the standings. With 20 scored goals, Bosnia was solid offensively, but they have conceded 17 goals in 10 games, way too many. In their last match in the qualifications against Liechtenstein on the road, Bosnia was the better team, which is not hard against Liechtenstein. Bosnia has had 76% of ball possession, 9 shots on goal, 9 corner kicks, 10 big chances created, and high 93% of the correct passes. Bosnia was struggling with finishing their chances in this match, but they were able to score 3 goals in the second half, and Bosnia has won this match 0-3. Bosnia has the new head coach, Dusan Bajevic, the coach with massive experience who can certainly help Bosnia reach the next level in their game, and finally, qualify for the big competition. With players like Dzeko, Kolasinac, Gojak, Basic, and Begovic in their roster, Bosnia has the quality to do a lot better then they did in the qualifications, and when we add Pjanic to that lineup, Bosnia will get another dimension in their game, the dimension they desperately need.
Italy is the better team here, in better form, and with much more depth than Bosnia. This is the first game for both teams in a while, but I think Italy will get the job done here, and they will score a few goals while doing it. It’s not that Bosnia is bad; they are just not in good form.
