Romania is welcoming Northern Ireland to National Arena in round 1 in the UEFA Nations League.

Romania is improving, but they are winless in their last 3 games. In the Euro Cup qualifications, Romania has ended in 4th place with 14 points, 17 scored goals, and 15 conceded goals, and we will not be seeing Romania in the Euro Cup next year. In their latest match against Spain on the road, Romania has had measly 26% of ball possession, 2 shots on goal, 2 corner kicks, and 78% of the correct passes. It’s not easy to defend against Spain, and Romani was not doing it well. Romania has lost this match 5-0. Romania is in 37th place in the FIFA standings, and they are coming into this cycle without any big names, but Romania is a good team, and they are capable of playing good soccer. Radoi has become the head coach back in November of last year, and he is yet to lead a game as the head coach. In his previous coaching job, Radoi was coaching the Romanian U21 team, and he was doing a fantastic job. During his time at the helm, Radoi has had 10 wins, 3 draws, and 3 losses. Romania is a solid team, and they could have an impact on their group in the Nations League.

Northern Ireland has sown some improvement during the Euro Cup qualifications, but unfortunately for them, Norther Ireland ended the qualifications in 3rd place with 13 points, 6 points behind the Netherlands. Northern Ireland is not an overly attractive team, which we could have seen in the qualifications where they scored only 9 goals while conceding 13 goals. There are a few good players from the EPL like Evans, McNair, Thompson, and Dallas playing for Northern Ireland, but at least for now, they are lacking offense to have a better result. Northern Ireland still has a chance of getting into the Euro Cup next year, but they need to go through Bosnia in the additional qualifications which will be played next year. In their last game against Germany on the road, Northern Ireland has had 28% of ball possession, 1 shot on goal, 3 corner kicks, and 77% of the correct passes. This was a tough game for Northern Ireland which they lost 6-1. Northern Ireland is in 36th place in the FIFA standings, and they got a new head coach earlier this year, Ian Baraclough who was in charge or Norther Ireland’s U21 team before this. Northern Ireland can play fantastic defense, and I think that is the only thing that could get them into the Euro Cup next year.

Romania has never lost to Norther Ireland at home, and I don’t think they will start now. We are getting Romania at a great price, and they are the better team here in my opinion. I will side with the home team, Romania.
