Serbia is welcoming Turkey to Stadium Rajko Mitic in round 2 in the UEFA Nations League.

Serbia is a good team, and they had a good game against Russia a few days ago, but a couple of stupid mistakes and the loss of focus have cost Serbia in this match. Serbia has had 62% of ball possession, 6 shots on goal, 4 corner kicks, and 85% of the correct passes. Serbia has lost this match 3-1. In the Euro Cup qualifications, Serbia ended in third place with 14 points, just short of being qualified, but they still have a shot of getting to the Euro Cup through the Qualifications playoffs where Serbia will face Norway. Mitrovic is the only goalscorer for Serbia for now with 1 goal, while Lazovic has 1 assist. The biggest problem for Serbia at the moment is that their top players Tadic, Jovic, and Milinkovic-Savic are not up to the task, and they are simply giving to little for this team, and that is something coach Tumbakovic must fix as soon as possible, and considering his experience and reputation, I think he will. Qualification playoffs are still far away, but Serbia better stays in good form because Norway is a good team, and they deserve to be in the euro Cup as much as Serbia does.

Turkey was in good form before the pandemic, but they haven’t started the Nations League in a good way. Turkey was playing against Hungary in their game a few days ago, and they have had 59% of ball possession in this game, 4 shots on goal, 3 corner kicks, and a solid 86% of the correct passes. Turkey has had a few decent chances in this match, but nothing Hungary couldn’t handle. In the 80th minute, Turkey has conceded a goal, and they ended up losing this match 0-1. We will be seeing Turkey in the Euro Cup next year in Group A with Italy, Wales, and Switzerland, and if Turkey stays in good form, we could see some positive results from them. For the majority of their first game, the Turkish defense and midfield were solid, but Turkey was missing that final pass towards the strikers, at least a precise pass. There is a lot of good players in Turkey on both ends, but coach Gunes is yet to utilize those players, maybe the formation change is coming before this game, and we can certainly expect the lineup change for this game. As I’ve said, Turkey is a good team, but we are yet to see the best from them in the Nations League.

Serbia and Turkey have never met before, but Serbia has conceded at least 1 goal in 12 of their last 13 goals, but the good news is that they also scored in 12 of their last 13 games. Turkey is good, and I don’t think they can go two games in a row without scoring a goal, especially against Serbia defense that is shaky at best. I expect goals.
