Wales is hosting Bulgaria at Cardiff City Stadium in round 2 in the UEFA Nations League.

Wales is on a 7-game run without a loss going back to the Euro Cup qualifications where Wales ended in second place of their group, and they will be playing in the Euro Cup next year. In their first Nations League game a few days ago against Finland on the road, Wales has had 47% of ball possession, 1 shot on goal, 0 corner kicks, 2 big chances created, and 86% of the correct passes. This was a typical game for Wales where they were patient and waiting for their chances, and one of those chances came in the 80th minute when Wales scored a winning goal. This match ended in a 0-1 in favor of Wales. Kieffer Moore has scored the only goal for Wales for now, while Daniel James has 1 assist. Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs who is Wales’ head coach is doing a fantastic job with this team, despite the lack of depth and quality on the bench. Wales is a great team with good players, and they can play some of the best defenses in Europe when they need to, and that is what makes Wales a nightmare for so many teams out there.

Bulgaria is a disaster, and they have only 1 win in their last 14 games. Bulgaria was very far from the top two spots in their Euro Cup qualifications group, in 4th place with only 6 points from 8 games, but by some miracle, Bulgaria still has a chance of getting in the Euro Cup through the Qualifications playoffs where they will face Hungary. Bulgari has scored only 6 goals in the qualifications. In their first Nations League game against Ireland, Bulgaria has had only 37% of ball possession, 4 shots on goal, 1 corner kick, and 80% of the correct passes. Bulgaria was bad, but they were able to get ahead in the 56th minute. Just when they thought they will win 3 points, Bulgaria conceded a goal in the 93rd minute, and this match ended in a 1-1 draw. Kraev has scored 1 goal for Bulgaria so far, while Nedelev added 1 assist. The dark times are upon Bulgarian soccer, and there is no sign of light anywhere. Bulgaria used to be a soccer force in Europe, but with bad management and no investments in the youth, the Bulgarian soccer has been stagnant for years now. I don’t think we will see Bulgaria in the Euro Cup next year, or any other cup for the next few years.

Wales is the favorite in this match, and deservedly so. I never liked playing under on soccer games, but this one is drawing me towards it. Wales is the better team here in every aspect of the game, and I think they will win this match. Once again, I will avoid playing under, no matter how much I’m being drawn to it.
