Bosnia & Herzegovina is welcoming Poland to Bilino Polje in round 2 in the UEFA Nations League.
Bosnia hasn’t been in good form before the pandemic, but they were quite impressive against Italy a few days ago. Bosnia has had very low possession in this match, only 39%, but they had 4 shots on goal, 2 corner kicks, and 77% of the correct passes. After the first half ended in a 0-0, Bosnia got ahead in the 57th minute with a goal from Dzeko. In the 67th minute, Italy tied the score, and this match ended in a 1-1 draw. Dzeko has 1 goal for Bosnia so far, while Sunjic has 1 assist. Bosnia didn’t qualify for the Euro Cup through the qualifications, but they still can qualify through the Qualification Playoffs if they beat Northern Ireland of course. Bosnia has shown us plenty of good stuff in their game against Italy, and when Bosnia had the possession, they controlled the game flow really well, and despite good Italian defense, Bosnia was able to create a decent amount of good chances. Bosnia deserves a spot in the Euro Cup in my opinion, and if they do get there, Bosnia could do well.
Poland has qualified for the Euro Cup, and they will play in Group E with Spain and Sweden, while the fourth team is yet to be determined. Poland is without their best player, Lewandowski, in this cycle, and it was clearly visible they miss him in their game against the Netherlands. Poland has had only 37% of ball possession in this game, 1 shot on goal, 4 corner kicks, 0 big chances created, and 77% of the correct passes. Without their star striker and captain, Poland hasn’t produced any good chances, and they ended up losing this match 1-0, but it could have been a lot more if the Netherlands was a bit more focused. Poland is a good team, and they can play great soccer, but when they have their best team on the field. I think Poland will do well in the Euro Cup next year, and they certainly can win the second place, because I don’t think they can beat Spain in the battle for the top spot, but still, Euro Cup is far away, and anything can happen in the meantime. Lewandowski is the best player in Poland, and this team is nothing without him, but there are a few more good players in this team, players like Milik, Piatek, and Zielinski.
Bosnia and Poland have played only once before, back in 2010, and that match ended in a 2-2 draw. Honestly, I think this match could go either way, but Bosnia has shown more in their game against Italy than Poland did in their game against the Netherlands. Bosnia is good, but I don’t think their defense is good enough to stop Poland. I will pick something on goals.
