Granada is hosting Deportivo Alaves at Estadio Nuevo Los Carmenes in round 2 in the Spanish LaLiga.
Granada is in great form, and they have won their last 2 games while scoring 6 goals during that stretch and conceding 0 goals. In their first LaLiga game against Bilbao at home, Granada has had 40% of ball possession, 2 shots on goal, 1 corner kick, 1 big chance created, and low 69% of the correct passes. Granada was good defensively in this match, and while they were the weaker team in this game, Granada was able to score 2 goals in the second half, and in the end, Granada has won this match 2-0. Milla and Herrera have each scored 1 goal for Granada, while Montoro added 1 assist. Earlier this week, Granada was playing in the Europa League qualifications against Teuta on the road, and they have won this match 0-4. Eteki is the only injured player for Granada at this time. Granada didn’t do so well in the preseason, but they shook off the bad results, and Granada has really stepped up in their opening game of the LaLiga season. Granada will be playing in another Europa League qualifications next week against Lokomotivi Tbilisi, and they are the favorite in this match. Granada is playing well, and they deserved everything good coming their way.
Alaves are in really bad form, and they haven’t won any of their last 6 games, dating back to the last season. In the preseason, Alaves has played 4 games, and they lost 3, while 1 game ended in a draw. In their opening game of the season against Betis at home, Alaves was the weaker team with 41% of ball possession, 2 shots on goal, 6 corner kicks, 1 big chance created, and 75% of the correct passes. Alaves was struggling offensively, but they were solid on the defensive end, until the 94th minute of the game when they conceded a goal. Alaves has lost this match 0-1. Alaves has barely escaped the relegation zone last season, and I don’t see Alaves doing any better this season. Marin and Garcia are both injured, and they will miss this game for Alaves. There are some good players like Perez, Guidetti, Joselu, and Garcia playing in Alaves, but the chemistry is just not there. There is a lot of potentials in Alaves, but so far there hasn’t been a coach in Alaves that was able to use those potentials. I think Alaves has the quality to stay in LaLiga, but that’s all we can expect from them.
Granada has won their last 3 games against Alaves, and they have never lost at home against Alaves. Granada is the better team here, and despite them playing just a few days ago in the Europa League, they are the favorites here, and deservedly so. I will side with Granada at home.
