Slavia Mozyr is hosting Shakhtyor Soligorsk at Yunost Stadium in round 24 in the Belarus Vysshaya League.

Slavia has improved a lot since the start of the season, and thanks to that, they are now outside the relegation zone, and they have maybe even secured their Vysshaya League status. Slavia is in 12th place in the standings with 24 points, 4 points above the relegation zone. Offensively, Slavia has been decent with 29 scored goals in 21 games, but they have conceded 41 goals. In their last Vysshaya League match against Torpedo on the road, Slavia has had 47% of ball possession, 5 shots on goal, 20 free kicks, and 3 corner kicks. With 2 conceded goals in each half, Slavia has lost this match 4-2. There are no injuries in Slavia at the moment, but Raevskiy and Pantya are in danger of being suspended if they concede another yellow card. Silusar is Slavia’s leading goalscorer with 6 goals, while Narh added 5 goals. Chukhley and Tetteh added 4 goals each. Slavia has had some good results as of late, and because there are so many teams in worse form than Slavia, they will most likely be lucky enough to stay in the Vysshaya League next season as well.

Shakhtyor is in fantastic form in the Vysshaya League, and they have lost only 1 of their last 17 games in the Vysshaya League. Shakhtyor was playing in the Europa League qualifications as well, but they lost that match in the penalty shootout, and they got knocked out of the competition. In their latest Vysshaya League match against Vitebsk at home, Shakhtyor was fantastic with 49% of ball possession, 7 shots on goal, 14 free kicks, and 2 corner kicks. Shakhtyor was incredibly efficient in this match, and they have scored 5 goals from 7 shots on goal, and in the end, Shakhtyor has won this match 5-0. Politevich and Shindagoridze are injured, while Bodul and Sachivko are both in danger of being suspended. Lisakovich is still Shakhtyor’s leading goalscorer with 9 goals, but he is no longer at the club. Podstrelov has added 7 goals, while Arhipov, Yakhsibaev, and Ivanovic added 4 goals each. Shakhtyor is at the top of the table with 46 points, same as Bate Borisov behind them, but Shakhtyor is playing absolutely fantastic defense this season, and that is what could bring them the title.

Slavia Mozyr has never beaten Shakhtyor Soligorsk in the past, and of 14 games these two teams played against each other, Shakhtyor has won 11 games, while 3 games ended in a draw. There is no way in hell I’m siding with Slavia against the leader of the Vysshaya League, and the best defensive team in the league. I’m taking Shakhtyor and goals in this one.
