Brighton faces Manchester United on Saturday, September 26th at Amex Stadium for an English Premier League match.
Brighton is coming off a 3-0 win over Newcastle United in its last Premier League match. That victory for Brighton is the club's first of the newest campaign, as Brighton is now 1-0-1 to start the Premier League season. Brighton sandwiched that win over Newcastle United with two wins in the English Carabao Cup over Portsmouth and Preston North End. Brighton's only loss of the Premier League season thus far was to Chelsea via a final score of 3-1. Overall, Brighton is scoring a lot more than it did in the latter stages of the previous Premier League season. Offensive struggles held this club back in the past, so it will be interesting to see if Brighton can continue to score at a decent rate. In its last three matches, Brighton has scored nine goals, which is stellar.
Manchester United has only gotten one match under its belt in the young Premier League season thus far. That match was at home against Crystal Palace, and Manchester United was absolutely stunned, losing the match 3-1. Manchester United conceded a goal in the 7th minute to Andros Townsend, but not too many people were worried about the result. Manchester United could not find a goal until the 80th minute, and that came after Crystal Palace added another tally from Wilfried Zaha in the 74th minute on a penalty. Manchester United will have to rebound after a shock loss, as there is still plenty of season left for the club. Manchester United will need to find a win at Brighton and avoid an 0-0-2 start in a very competitive Premier League.
The last time Brighton and Manchester United met was on June 30th of 2020. In that match, Manchester United took down Brighton by the final score of 3-0 at Amex Stadium.
Even though Brighton has played well to start the season, I do not think Manchester United is going to let another match of this caliber slip from its fingers. Manchester United should be able to find the back of the net early in this match, and I think Manchester United grabs the win on the road.
