Crystal Palace faces Everton on Saturday, September 26th at Selhurst Park for an English Premier League match.
Crystal Palace has been the surprise club so far in the very early stages of the Premier League season. Crystal Palace sits at 2-0-0, and the club's two wins were both very impressive. First, Crystal Palace took down a tough Southampton club at Selhurst Park via a 1-0 final score. Then, on the road, Crystal Palace took on Manchester United. Wilfried Zaha and the boys took down Manchester United by the final score of 3-1, stunning Manchester United and the entire Premier League world. Wilfried Zaha is now tied for second for league-leaders in goals (3). Crystal Palace will look to continue its upset tour when it takes on a very tough Everton that has also had success in the Premier League thus far. Despite its Premier League success, Crystal Palace did drop a match in the English Carabao Cup to former Premier League club in Bournemouth 0-0 in penalties.
Everton is also having a great start to the season in the Premier League, as the club also owns a perfect 2-0-0 record thus far. In Everton's last match in Premier League competition, the club took down West Bromwich Albion by the final score of 5-2. A 5-2 win is something that Everton supporters had been waiting on for quite a while, as Everton has not been especially flashy to watch recently. Dominic Calvert-Lewin had a hat trick in that match, as he now leads the Premier League in goals with four. If Everton can pack this punch for a majority of the season, the club could very well surprise and be apart of the top-five at the end of the season.
The last time Crystal Palace and Everton met was on February 8th of 2020. In that match, Everton took down Crystal Palace at home by the final score of 3-1.
I think Crystal Palace certainly has a lot more gas in the tank than just one single upset win, but I do not think Palace will win this game against a surging Everton squad. I will take Everton on the money line, as I see Everton doing enough to push its record to a perfect 3-0-0.
