Stade de Reims is welcoming Paris Saint-Germain to Stade Auguste Delaune in round 5 in the French Ligue 1.

Reims has had a good last season, and they ended up in the 6th place, just outside the Europa League spot. So far this season, Reims hasn’t won a single game in the French Ligue 1, and they lost their latest Europa League qualifications game against MOL Fehrevar. Reims has won only 1 point in Ligue 1 this season, and they are in 19th place in the standings. In their latest Ligue 1 match against Metz on the road, Reims has had only 41% of ball possession, 4 shots on goal, 5 corner kicks, 1 big chance created, and 73% of the correct passes. The half time result was 1-1, but Reims has conceded a red card in the 50th minute. Reims has conceded another goal in the 88th minute of the game, and they ended up losing this match 2-1. Reims has scored only 3 goals so far this season, and Dia has scored 2 of those, while Toure added 1 goal. Toure has added 1 assist. Doumbia is the only injured player for Reims, while Faes and Munetsi are both suspended because of the red cards. Reims is not doing well, but maybe now that they have been knocked out of the Europa League, Reims can focus on the Ligue 1.

After the first two games if the season without a win, and without a scored goal, PSG is now on a 2-game winning streak during which they scored 4 goals and conceded 0 goals. With 6 points, PSG has climbed the standings to 8th place. Mbappe, Marquinhos, Draxler, and Di Maria have each scored 1 goal for PSG so far this season. Bernat is injured, while Gueye is still questionable. Kurzawa is still suspended because of the red card. In their last Ligue 1 games against Nice on the road, PSG has had 50% of ball possession, 6 shots on goal, 7 corner kicks, 4 big chances created, and high 92% of the correct passes. The return of Mbappe was crucial for PSG in this game, and they have deservedly won this match 0-3. In the absence of Mbappe, Icardi, and Neymar, Di Maria has been the best player for PSG, and I see him continuing to play well for a while. Neymar is also getting back in the lineup for this match, which means PSG will be much more dangerous now. After reaching the Champions League finals, and losing, PSG can now focus on Ligue 1, at least for a while before the Champions League starts again. The schedule is easy for PSG in their next few games, and they can certainly win every single one of those games.

Reims is in a terrible, terrible form, while PSG is just warming up. PSG is a much better team here, on both ends, especially in the attacking end. I’m picking PSG on the road, and goals as well.
