Liverpool faces Arsenal on Monday, September 28th at Anfield for an English Premier League match.
Liverpool is off to a great start in Premier League play thus far, as the club tries to defend its Premier League title from a season ago. Liverpool started the season with a 4-3 win over Leeds United. Leeds was able to give Liverpool a bit of a scare in that match at Anfield, but Liverpool was eventually able to prevail for the three points. Liverpool then took down a tough Chelsea team by a score of 2-0 on the road. Liverpool was been strong on offense, which is not a surprise to anyone. Liverpool also took down Lincoln City in English Carabao Cup play by the final score of 7-2. If Liverpool can continue to score goals at this impressive rate, it is going to be very difficult for any club to come close to them this season.
Arsenal is also off to a 2-0-0 start in the Premier League so far. Arenal has not faced the toughest of competition, as it was West Ham United and Fulham to start the season for Arsenal. Arsenal took care of both of those matches in a comfortable fashion, but West Ham United did give Arsenal a decent run. Arsenal was a club heading into this Premier League season that many people had their eyes on, as Arsenal was impressive during the summer months of the post-COVID season. Arsenal would love to be able to upset the champions on the road in this match, but it is not going to be an easy match at all. Arsenal will need to find the back of the net first in this match if it wants a chance.
The last time Liverpool and Arsenal met was on August 29th of 2020. In that match, the two teams took a 1-1 draw in Premier League play.
Liverpool is a big favorite in this match, with a -220 price on the three-way money line. I do, in fact, expect Liverpool to win this match, but I do not think it will be easy. I like Arsenal to keep this close, and because of that, I am going to take the over. I expect both teams to score, with Liverpool providing two or three of its own. A 3-1 or 3-2 score seems the most likely in my opinion.
