Huesca is welcoming Atletico Madrid to El Alcoraz in round 4 in the Spanish LaLiga.
Huesca is the newcomer to LaLiga, and it was expected they will struggle, but I can’t say Huesca is doing that bad. In the three games they played, Huesca has 2 draws and 1 loss, alongside 2 scored goals and 4 conceded goals. With 2 points, Huesca is in 17th place in the standings. In their latest LaLiga match against Valencia on the road, Huesca was actually the better team with 53% of ball possession, 4 shots on goal, 4 corner kicks, 1 big chance created, and a solid 83% of the correct passes. Huesca was losing 1-0 at the half time, but they tied the score in the 63rd minute. The final result was 1-1. Maffeo and Siovas have each scored 1 goal for Huesca so far, while Juan and Ferreiro added 1 assist each. Maffeo and Rico are injured, and they will not be in the lineup for this game, while Nwakali and Valera are still questionable for this match. I don’t think Huesca has the quality to be much higher than 15th place, but I think they certainly can avoid the relegation zone, or at least get to the relegation playoff spot.
Atletico Madrid has played their first game of the season this past weekend, and I must say, I’m impressed. Atletico was playing against Granada at home, and they have had 55% of ball possession, massive 10 shots on goal, 1 corner kick, 8 big chances created, and 83% of the correct passes. Atletico Madrid has won this match 6-1, while their latest signing Luis Suarez scored 2 goals and added 1 assist in just 20 minutes he played. With Suarez in their roster, Atletico has a true striker at their disposal, and I believe they will score many more goals than the previous seasons. Felix, Llorente, Costa, and Correa have each scored 1 goal for Atletico, while Suarez added 2 goals. Correa has added 2 assists, while Llorente, Suarez, and Felix each have 1 assist. Gimenez is in quarantine because he has Coronavirus, while Vrsaljko is still questionable for this game. Atletico Madrid is a well-balanced team, and they are slowly changing their game style to be more offensively oriented, and it’s already visible that Atletico is playing much better soccer in the attacking end, while at the same time their defense has remained solid and firm. I see Atletico is one of the top three spots this season, the only question is which one.
Huesca and Atletico have played only twice against each other, and Atletico has won both of those games without conceding a goal. Huesca is doing well, but Atletico is miles ahead of them, and with this brutal win against Granada, I’m not stepping in front of Atletico Madrid.
