Everton faces Liverpool on Saturday, October 17th at Goodison Park for an English Premier League match.
Everton is off to a historic start in the Premier League this season, owning a 4-0-0 record and sitting in first place. Everton's offense has been incredible this season, scoring 12 goals already (which is good for three goals per game). Everton has only conceded five goals, which gives the club a +7 goal differential. Everton will be put to the ultimate test when it has to take on the defending Premier League champions in Liverpool. Everton's last match came on October 3rd against Brighton. In that match, Everton took down Brighton by the final score of 4-2 at home. Everton will look to push its all-competition unbeaten streak to eight matches with a win or draw against Liverpool, but it will be no easy task.
This has to be Liverpool's most anticipated match of the Premier League season thus far, as the reigning champs will look to hand Everton its first loss of the season. Liverpool is 3-0-1 so far this season, as the team's only loss came against Aston Villa by the final score of 7-2. Liverpool was absolutely stunned in that match, as was everyone else that follows Premier League soccer. That match on October 4th was a clear example as to why you can never underestimate your opponent, especially when that opponent is a professional soccer club in the Premier League. Liverpool should be able to bounce back from such a sloppy performance, but it will not be easy against such a red-hot Everton squad.
The last time Everton and Liverpool met was on June 21st of 2020. In that match, the two clubs went scoreless in a good ole 0-0 draw. Supporters of each team can only hope that there will be more action in this upcoming match.
Liverpool opens as the decent favorites at -125 on the money line. In this match, I think we definitely see both teams score at least once, but maybe even twice. Even though these two clubs were scoreless last go around, I like the over in this match. Everton's offense is in a much better place than it was in June, and I think we easily get over three goals in this one.
