Newcastle United and Manchester United face off in an English Premier League showdown on Saturday at St. James Park.
Newcastle United isn’t getting a ton of attention but they have looked decent to the start the season. Newcastle currently sits in 9th place in the standings and he has seven points right now. After playing to a tie with Tottenham Hotspur, Newcastle was able to beat Burnley in their last game. Newcastle only had 47 percent of possession in that game, but they managed five shots on goal with three of them going in the back of the net. Calllum Wilson was the star of the show putting two goals in the back of the net with one of them coming on a penalty kick. In this game if Newcastle wants to win, they need to make life tough on Manchester and have possession.
On the other side of this matchup is Manchester United who have had a terrible start to the season and they are actually only two spots out right now of getting relegated. Manchester United has won only one game so far this year and they are coming off a loss they got dominated by Tottenham Hotspur. In that game, Manchester United gave up six goals and that was after they scored the first goal in that game. Four minutes after scoring the first goal, Manchester United was down 2-1. In this game if they want to win they can’t fall behind early This is a team that had a long time to think about their loss and giving up the first goal would really hurt the confidence.
Manchester United’s defense is a problem and I am not trusting Newcastle to keep too many shots out of the back net either. Look for both teams to run up the score in this one and this game is going to go over the total. In terms of the side it's a lean for Newcastle to pull off the upset but that is just based on value and there is plenty of better spots to lock.
