Manchester City and Liverpool face off in an English Premier League showdown on Sunday at City of Manchester Stadium.
This is the marquee matchup of the weekend and could go a long way in deciding who will be coming away with the Premier League crowd.
Manchester City can’t be very happy with the way they have started their season but there is still no doubt they are one of the best teams in the entire country. Manchester City currently sits with 11 points on the season and one issue they have had so far in league play has been with their scoring. Each of the last two games inside the Premier League they have only scored a goal and that has led to a draw and a win. Manchester City did have a midweek Champions League game against Olympiacos and they were able to win 3-0. In the last game against Sheffield United it was Kyle Walker who put a goal in the back of the net in the 28th minute and that was the difference as they came away with a victory. In this game they are going to need to find a way to have more offensive success and the first goal would be very helpful.
On the other side of this matchup is Liverpool who will be back in first place of the standings with a victory in this game. Liverpool is an elite offensive squad and in their midweek game in Champions League competition against Atalanta it was their offense that came away with a 5-0 victory. One of the big issues for Liverpool this season has been with their injuries but they have consistently had others step up. Thiago is going to miss this game and that is a big loss for the squad. The big question for this team in this game is who will step up at left center back. In this game they are going to need the defense to be strong or they are going to be caught.
Manchester City’s offense has been inconsistent and I think they are caught in this game. This is probably the biggest underdog price we will find liverpool at and I am going to take a shot. Back Liverpool on the money line.
