Sassuolo is welcoming Benevento to Mapei Stadium in round 11 in the Italian Serie A.
Sassuolo is having a fantastic season, but they broke their undefeated streak against Inter a couple of weeks ago when they lost 0-3 at home. In their last Serie A game against Roma on the road, Sassuolo has had 57% of ball possession, 1 shot on goal, 5 corner kicks, 0 big chances created, and 88% of the correct passes. Sassuolo has had an extra player on the field since the 4th minute of the game but they weren’t able to utilize that, and they have almost lost this game. The final score of this match was 0-0. Sassuolo is now in 5th place with 19 points, 20 scored goals, and 12 conceded goals so far this season. Caputo has scored 5 goals for Sassuolo so far this season, while Berardi added 4 goals, and Djuricic has 3 goals. Berardi also has 3 assists, while Caputo added 2 assists. Romagna and Caputo are both injured, while Defrel and Chiriches are still questionable. Sassuolo has lost only 1 game so far this season, and they are having a fantastic time, but the season is long, and I’m not yet sure Sassuolo can stay consistent for most of it.
After 5 straight losses, Benevento hasn’t lost any of their last 3 games, while winning 1 of those 3 games. Benevento’s last two games ended in a draw, including the one against Parma last weekend. Benevento has had 43% of ball possession in that game, 2 shots on goal, 3 corner kicks, and 83% of the correct passes. This was a tough game for both teams, and it ended in a 0-0 draw. Caprari and Lapadula have each scored 3 goals for Benevento so far this season, while Caldriolo and Letizia added 2 goals. Caprari and Lapadula also added 2 assists. Volta, Maggio, Caldrioloa, and Mancici are all injured, while Viola is questionable. As the newcomer to Serie A, Benevento is doing a solid job so far, and they are way outside the relegation zone, in the 13th place with 11 points, only 12 scored goals, and 21 conceded goals. Benevento has one of the weakest defenses in Serie A so far this season, but they are lucky because there are worse teams than them in Serie A this season. There is no such thing as an easy schedule for Benevento, but theirs is on a lighter side over the next few weeks.
Sassuolo and Benevento have played only 2 games against each other, and we saw at least 3 goals in each of those games. Benevento is the better team here without a doubt, and they are in better form despite not winning any of their last 2 games. I think Sassuolo will get back on the winning track in this game, and I will take them.
