FC Copenhagen is welcoming Midtjylland to Parken in round 4 of the Danish Superliga Championship Round.

Copenhagen has been playing well as of late and they haven’t lost any of their last 7 games. In their first three games of the Championship Round, Copenhagen has 2 draws and 1 win. With 61 points, 51 scored goals, and only 31 conceded goals, Copenhagen is in second place in the Championship standings, 8 points behind Midtjylland, but if Copenhagen wins in this match, that difference will drop to only 5 points. In their last Superliga game against Brondby, Copenhagen has had 50% of ball possession, 4 shots on goal, 6 corner kicks, and 82% of the correct passes. This match ended in a 1-1 draw. Sotiriou has scored 9 goals for Copenhagen and is their top goal scorer, while N’Doye added 8 goals, and Santos has 7 goals. Viktor Fischer has added 8 assists. Boilesen, N’Doye, Fischer, and Santos are all injured, which is a really bad thing for Copenhagen because these are some of their best players, while Zeca is suspended because of the yellow cards. This is the crucial game for Copenhagen which they simply can’t lose because if they do, I’m afraid it might be too late for their title dreams.

Midtjylland hasn’t started this Championship Round well and they have won only 1 of their last 3 games. During this stretch, Midtjylland has scored 5 goals, but they also conceded 4 goals. With 69 points, Midtjylland is at the top of the Championship Round standings. Midtjylland has scored the least amount of goals of all teams in the Championship Round, 47, but what makes them better than their competition is their outstanding defense where Midtjylland conceded only 18 goals this season. Evander has scored 7 goals and added 8 assists for Midtjylland this season, while Mabil also scored 7 goals, but ha added 4 assists. Olsen, Isaksen, Sparv, Patrick, and Riis are all injured, while Cajuste is suspended because of the yellow cards. In their last Championship Round match against Aalborg at home, Midtjylland has had 50% of ball possession, 3 shots on goal, 5 corner kicks, and low 61% of the correct passes. This was an exciting game where we saw plenty of goals and chances. The result at the half-time was 1-1, but early in the second half, Midtjylland scored 2 goals and was now 3-1 ahead. After that, something clicked in Aalborg and they started playing much better soccer. With goals in 77th, 83rd, and 94th minute, Aalborg has impressively turned the game around and won this match 3-4. Midtjylland might have an 8-point advantage now, but that could easily change if they don’t win this game, the title might be on the line.

The trends are on Copenhagen’s side in this matchup, while Copenhagen hasn’t lost any of their last three games against Midtjylland and has won three straight home games. Copenhagen’s record at home this season is 12-1-1. To me, everything is pointing to Copenhagen despite all of the injuries, and I will side with them because, if Copenhagen wins, the title race is once again alive for Copenhagen.
