Getafe is hosting Atletico Madrid at Coliseum Alfonso Perez in round 37 in Spanish LaLiga.

Getafe has been playing terrible since the restart, but by some miracle, Getafe is still in the Europa League spot, in 6th place with 54 points. Getafe could get to 5th place or drop out of the Europa League spot in their last two games, but to stay where they are, Getafe has to win at least 1 of their last 2 games. Getafe has won only 1 of their last 9 games, and they were terrible in the attacking end with only 6 scored goals, while they have been decent defensively with 8 conceded goals. Getafe has one of the best defenses this season with only 34 conceded goals, while they have scored a solid 43 goals so far. Mata has scored 11 goals for Getafe this season, while Rodriguez added 10 goals. Cucurella added 5 assists. Manojlovic is injured, while Etebo is still questionable for this match. In their latest LaLiga game against Alaves on the road, Getafe was the better team in that match with 54% of ball possession, 4 shots on goal, 4 corner kicks, and low 58% of accurate passes. Once again, Getafe’s offense wasn’t in the good mood, and this match ended in a 0-0 draw. Getafe is in a bad shape and considering that the Europa League is starting in early August, I don’t think Getafe will have a good time unless they make a fast turn and start playing better soccer in the attacking end.

Atletico is still undefeated since the restart, but more importantly, they have been playing much better soccer in the attacking end. In their last 9 games, Atletico has scored 17 goals, while conceding only 5 goals. With only 26 conceded goals overall this season, Atletico is the second-best defensive team in LaLiga. With 66 points, Atletico is in third place, but Sevilla is behind them with the same amount of points. Both Sevilla and Atletico will end up in the Champions League, the only question is who will be in third and who will be in fourth place. In their latest LaLiga game against Betis at home, Atletico Madrid has had only 37% of ball possession, 4 shots on goal, 2 corner kicks, and 77% of the correct passes. This was a tough game for both teams, and Atletico even conceded a red card in the 57th minute, but if anything, Atletico is a good defensive team. In the 74th minute, Atletico was able to score a goal and to win this match 1-0. Morata has scored 12 goals for Atletico Madrid so far this season, while Felix and Niguez added 6 goals each. Vrsaljko is the only injured player for Atletico, while Felix and Gimenez are still questionable. The last two games of the season won’t be easy for Atletico Madrid, but they have been playing well, and I think they can end the season in third place.

This is the match between two defensive teams, and once against something is pulling me towards a draw. This game could easily go either way, but I will stick with a draw.
