During this stretch, Sociedad has scored only 2 goals, and for a team that is aiming for the Europa League, this is inexcusable. In their last game against Celta Vigo at home, Sociedad has had 58% of ball possession, 6 shots on goal, 7 corner kicks, and 82% of the correct passes. Sociedad was the better team in this game, but their offense has failed them once again, and in the end, Sociedad has lost this match 0-1. Without a win in their last 4 games, Sociedad is slowly sliding down the standings and they are now in 7th place with 47 points, outside the Europa League place. Before the break, Sociedad was in a fantastic form and they were scoring goals left and right, but it looks like this break did more harm than good to Real Sociedad. Jose and Oyarzabal have both scored 9 goals for Sociedad this season, while Portu and Isak added 7 goals each. Sangalli, Illarramendi, and Barrenetxea are all injured and will not be in the lineup for this game. I’m not sure what to say about Sociedad anymore, I know they are a good team, and this slump must end eventually, but it better be soon, for Sociedad’s sake.

Neither Getafe nor Sociedad is playing well, and while Sociedad hasn’t won any of their last 4 games, Getafe hasn’t won any of their last 5 games. Getafe was dominant at home in this matchup, but I’m not ready to side with them, or with Sociedad for that matter.
