Leganes is hosting Sevilla at Estadio Municipal de Butarque in round 33 of Spanish LaLiga.

Leganes hasn’t been playing well dating back before the break, but since the restart, Leganes has been even worse, and they haven’t won any of their last 5 games. With 25 points, Leganes is in 19th place, which is in the relegation zone, and their chances of staying in LaLiga are decreasing with every game. Leganes is now 9 points away from the safe zone. Offensively, Leganes is a terrible team, the worst in LaLiga with only 24 scored goals, while they conceded 46 goals. In their last LaLiga game against Osasuna on the road, Leganes has ha d49% of ball possession, 7 shots on goal, 4 corner kicks, and 73% of the correct passes. Leganes was losing 1-0 at the half-time, but they were able to tie the game in the 50th minute. They were defending well, I thought Leganes will win at least a point, but in the 96th minute, Leganes conceded a goal and has lost this match 2-1. Oscar is Leganes’ top goal scorer with 9 goals, while En-Nesyri added 4 goals. Szymanowski, Rodriguez, and Carrillo are all injured and will not be in the lineup. I don’t think Leganes can improve enough this season to stay in LaLiga, and even if they do, they don’t depend only on themselves. Leganes will get relegated this season, and maybe that is a good thing for them.

Sevilla is one of the best teams in LaLiga this season, but since the restart, Sevilla has 1 win and 4 straight draws. During this stretch, Sevilla has scored 6 goals, while conceding 4 goals. Sevilla is still in the Champions League spot, 4th place with 54 points, but Villarreal is getting dangerously close to them because Sevilla is dropping points all over the place. Sevilla has scored 45 goals, solid, but it should be better for a team in the top four. Their defense has been decent with 33 conceded goals. Lucas Ocampos leads Sevilla with 12 goals, while De Jong added 6 goals. Ever Banega has 6 assists, while Navas added 5 assists. There are no injuries in Sevilla, but Franco Vazquez is suspended because of the yellow cards. In their most recent LaLiga game against Valladolid at home, Sevilla was the better team with 75% of ball possession, 3 shots on goal, 5 corner kicks, and 87% of the correct passes. Sevilla conceded a goal in the 25th minute, and it took them a long time to get back in the game, but in 83rd minute, Sevilla scored from a penalty kick, and while they had some more good chances after this, the final result was 1-1. Sevilla is a good team, and I’m aware that this slump has to end soon for Sevilla, and I believe that Leganes is the perfect opponent for that.

When playing at home, Leganes has not lost to Sevilla in their last 3 games, but Leganes also hasn’t won any of their last 5 games. Sevilla hasn’t lost any of their last 11 games. Once again, I don’t want to overthink this, instead, I will side with Sevilla in this game.
