Manchester City is welcoming Arsenal to Etihad Stadium in a derby match of round 28 in the English Premier League.

Before the season was paused, City was in a solid form despite losing their last game to their rival, Manchester United. Manchester City has had massive 73% of ball possession in that game, 4 shots on goal, 11 corner kicks, and 89% of the correct passes. As they did many games before in this season, City was struggling offensively with scoring goals, and their defense isn’t good enough his season to compensate for the lack of goals. Manchester City has lost this match 2-0. Manchester City is in second place in the EPL standings with only 57 points, massive 25 points away from Liverpool at the top, and even though they still have a theoretical chance to win the title, that will not happen. Manchester City is only 4 points ahead of Leicester and they are in danger of losing their second place, but it doesn’t really matter because as of right now, Manchester City is suspended from the Champions League, we should know more next month when the final decision will be made. Manchester City is the best offensive team in the EPL with 68 scored goals, while they conceded 31 goals. Aguero is the top goal scorer in Manchester City, while Sterling added 11 goals, and Jesus has 10 goals. De Bruyne added 8 goals and 17 assists for City this season. There are no injuries in Manchester’s roster. Overall, this season has been a disappointment for City in the EPL, but they still have a shot at winning the trophy this season because they are still playing in the Champions League and the FA Cup.

Arsenal was finally rising their form before the season was put on hold, but they are still 5 points away from the Europa League. Arsenal is on low, 9th place in the standings with only 40 points, 40 scored goals, and 36 conceded goals. Arsenal is also playing in the FA Cup, but they got knocked out from the Europa League by Olympiacos in a surprising turn of events. In their last EPL match against West Ham at home, Arsenal has had 68% of ball possession, 2 shots on goal, 6 corner kicks, and 85% of the correct passes. It was a solid game for Arsenal, which they won 1-0 with a goal from Lacazette. Aubameyang has been playing in good form this season and he scored 17 goals for Arsenal so far, while Lacazette added 7 goals. Calum Chambers is the only injured player for Arsenal and coach Arteta will not have him at his disposal. Ever since Arteta has taken over Arsenal’s helm, they have been playing better and more consistent soccer on both ends, but the competition for the Europa League is tough in the EPL this season, which means Arsenal will need to be at the top of their game for the rest of the season if they want to end up playing in one of the European competitions next season.

Arsenal hasn’t won any of their last 6 games against Manchester City, while City has not lost any of their last 4 home games against Arsenal. Usually, when these two teams meet, we are watching a good and eventful game, and I expect the same here. After a three-month break, this match could go either way and for that reason, I will stick with goals here.
