Real Madrid is hosting Deportivo Alaves at Estadio Alfredo di Stefano in round 35 in Spanish LaLiga.

Real Madrid has been absolutely fantastic since the restart and they have won all of their last 7 games, and what is even better is that Real Madrid has conceded only 2 goals during this stretch while scoring 13 goals. The last three games that Real Madrid has played, they won with the identical result, 1-0 and 0-1, and we could take that as a sign that their offense is declining. Sure, maybe Real was pushed a little by the referees in a few of their last games, but overall, Real Madrid has been the best team in LaLiga this season and they deserve to win the title. Real Madrid is at the top of LaLiga with 77 points, 1 point ahead of Barcelona, but with a game less. 62 scored goals are a lot, but what sets Real from the other teams is their defense this season. Real has conceded only 21 goals so far. In their latest LaLiga game against Bilbao on the road, Real has had 57% of ball possession, 4 shots on goal, 2 corner kicks, and 85% of the correct passes. Real won this match 0-1 with a goal from the penalty kick, but it’s worth mentioning that the penalty Real Madrid got, Bilbao, didn’t get for the exact same type of the foul. Benzema has scored 17 goals and added 7 assists for Real Madrid this season, while Ramos has 10 goals. Nacho and Marcelo are injured, while Carvajal and Ramos are suspended because of the yellow cards. Real Madrid still has a couple of tough games until the end of the season, and we will see how will their defense look without Carvajal and Ramos in the lineup in this match, could be a mess, and it could be that nothing will change.

Alaves have been terrible since the restart and they have lost 6 of their last 7 games, and their last 5 straight games. During this 5-games streak, Alaves has conceded massive 12 goals, while scoring only 1 goal. With 35 points, Alaves is in 16th place, which is outside the relegation zone, and I think they will stay LaLiga because it will be hard for Mallorca to win another 6 points to catch up to them. In their last LaLiga game against Valladolid on the road, Alaves has had 47% of ball possession, 3 corner kicks, 70% of the correct passes, but 0 shots on goal. Alaves has lost this match 1-0 with a goal in the 88th minute of the match. Neither their offense nor defense have been good this season and Alaves has scored only 32 goals while conceding 51 goals so far. Pacheco, Duarte, Rodriguez, and Gutierrez are all injured. Lucas Perez has scored 11 goals and added 5 assists for Alaves so far, while Joselu added 10 goals. Despite being this close to the relegation zone, I believe that Alaves will stay in LaLiga, but I wouldn’t be counting on any points in their last 4 games.

Real Madrid has been in a much better form than Alaves, and they have been dominant at home against Alaves, but Real Madrid will be without two of their starting defenders in this game, and for that reason only I will go with goals here. I think it’s time for Real Madrid to concede a goal.
