Wolfsburg is hosting the new champion Bayern Munich at Volkswagen Arena in round 34 of German Bundesliga.

Wolfsburg will be going to the Europa League; the only question is whether it’s going to be through the qualifications or directly to the group stage. At the moment, Wolfsburg is in 6th place that leads straight to the group stage, but Hoffenheim is right behind them with the same amount of points, and their opponent is not Bayern Munich. Wolfsburg has scored a solid 48 goals this season while conceding 42 goals. In their last Bundesliga game against Schalke on the road, Wolfsburg has had 51% of ball possession, 4 corner kicks, 5 shots on goal, and 78% of the correct passes. Wolfsburg has deservedly so won this game 1-4. Weghorst is having a fantastic season with 16 scored goals, while Steffen added 6 goals. Maximilian Arnold added 8 assists this season. Camacho, Karamoko, Otavio, William, and Mehmedi will all miss the last game of the season due to the injuries. Wolfsburg has been playing well, and whether they lose or win in this match, the season was a success for them because they will be playing in the Europa League one way or another.

Once again, Bayern is the Bundesliga champion. Since the season was restarted, Bayern has played 9 games, 8 in Bundesliga, and one in the DFB Pokal semifinals against Eintracht, which they won and got qualified to the finals where they will face Leverkusen on July 4th. During their last 9 games, Bayern has scored massive 25 goals, while conceding only 7 goals. This was a fantastic season for Bayern in Bundesliga where they scored amazing 96 goals while conceding only 32 goals in 33 games. There is only 1 game left in the season, and I have a feeling that Bayern will go all in to score 100 goals in a single season, which would be an absolutely amazing accomplishment. Lewandowski has scored 33 goals in 30 games for Bayern in Bundesliga and will be the best goal scorer this season, while Gnarby added 12 assists. Thomas Muller has 19 assists and is just 1 assist short to equalize De Bruyne’s record from his Wolfsburg days. Coutinho, Tolisso, Sule, Alcantara, Mai, and Arap are all injured, but none of that will affect Bayern’s game because they have an amazing depth. In their last Bundesliga game, Bayern was dominant as usual with 61% of ball possession, 9 shots on goal, 8 corner kicks, and 87% of the correct passes. Bayern has won this game 3-1 and has remained undefeated. Before the Champions League is back in August, Bayern still has to play in the DFB Pokal finals against Leverkusen, but after that, Bayern will have a long time to rest and keep their form high, hopefully they can do it without a competitive match in between.

The trends are heavily on Bayern’s side in this matchup, but Wolfsburg could use a win to go straight to the Europa League group stage. I would avoid betting on who could win this game, and find something on goals instead, which we could see plenty in this game.
