Milan is hosting Juventus at San Siro in a derby match of round 16 in the Italian Serie A.
Milan is still going strong, and they are still undefeated so far this season in Serie A. with 37 points, 34 scored goals, and 16 conceded goals, Milan is at the top of the Serie A table, and it looks like they might stay there for a while. In their latest Serie A game, Milan was playing against Benevento on the road, and they have had only 40% of ball possession, 2 shots on goal, 4 corner kicks, 2 big chances created, and 83% of the correct passes. Milan got ahead in the 15th minute from the penalty spot, but they have conceded a red card in the 33rd minute. Despite having a player less on the field, Milan was defending well, and they were even able to score another goal. Milan has won this match 0-2. Milan is on a 3-game winning streak during which they scored 7 goals while conceding only 3 goals. Ibrahimovic is still the leading goalscorer for Milan with 10 goals, but apparently, he will miss this match as well because he is not yet ready to play. Kessie has added 5 goals. Calhanoglu has added 6 assists for Milan. Bennacer, Gabbia, and Saelemaekers are injured, while Tonali is suspended because of the red card. Milan is the biggest favorite to win the title in my mind, but the competition is strong this season, and Milan will need to stay on their toes.
Juventus is also in good form, and after losing to Fiorentina at home before Christmas break, Juventus has gotten back on the winning track against Udinese this past weekend. Juventus was the dominant team in that game with 63% of ball possession, 10 shots on goal, 7 corner kicks, 5 big chances created, and high 91% of the correct passes. Ronaldo scored the leading goal for Juventus in the 31st minute, while Chiesa scored for 2-0 in the 49th minute. With another goal from Ronaldo in the 70th minute, Juventus was now leading 3-0. Udinese has scored a consolation goal in the 90th minute, but Dybala scored another one in the 93rd minute. Juventus has won this match 4-1. Ronaldo is in fantastic form, and he has scored 14 goals for Juventus so far, while Morata added 4 goals and 5 assists. Sandro is injured, while Morata is still questionable for Juventus. With 27 points, 29 scored goals, and 14 conceded goals, Juventus is in 5th place, but they are massive 10 points behind Milan at the top. I don’t think Juventus will win the title this season, but they certainly won’t go down without a fight.
This is one of the biggest derbies in Italy, and while Juventus is on a 3-game winning streak on the road, Milan is still undefeated this season. this could be Milan’s first loss of the season, but it could easily go the other way as well, which is why I will stick to goals here.
