Paris Saint-Germain is hosting Stade Brestois at Parc des Princes in round 19 in the French Ligue 1.
PSG is unbeaten in their last 4 games, but they failed to win their last game under the new head coach, Mauricio Pochetino. PSG was playing against Saint-Etienne in that game, and they have had 69% of ball possession, 4 shots on goal, 10 corner kicks, 3 big chances created, and a solid 89% of the correct passes. PSG was losing in the 19th minute, but they tied the score just 3 minutes later. We saw plenty of chances in the second half, but no goal, unfortunately. The final score of this game was 1-1. PSG has 36 points, they are the best offensive team in the league with 40 scored goals, and the best defensive team with only 11 conceded goals. PSG is no in second place, but they are just 3 points away from the top. Mbappe has scored 12 goals and added 4 assists for PSG so far this season, while Kean has added 8 goals. Bernat, Pereira, Kimpembe, Paredes, and Rafinha are injured, and supposedly Neymar as well, but I guess he is allowed to party in Brazil. Kurzawa, Florenzi, and Icardi are still questionable for this game. PSG is definitely the biggest favorite to win the title, but the competition is strong, and PSG will need to keep winning games if they want to win another title.
Brest is having a dream season, and they are in 10th place with 26 points, a great 30 scored goals, and massive 31 conceded goals. Brest is in great form, and they have lost only 2 of their last 8 games, and they have failed to score a goal in only 1 of those games, but they were able to keep 2 clean sheets. Honorat, Mounie, and Cardona have each scored 5 goals for Brest so far this season, while Faivre added 4 goals. Perraud has added 4 assists for Brest so far this season. Bain is the only injured player for Brest at the moment. Brest was hosting Nice in their last Ligue 1 game, and they have had only 39% of ball possession, 6 shots on goal, 6 corner kicks, 2 big chances created, and 76% of the correct passes. Despite being a slightly weaker team in this game, Brest has scored 2 quick goals in the first half, and they have won this game 2-0. Brest has ended last season far away from the relegation zone, and this season is even better for them. The only problem I see in Brest, for now, is their defense, which is not good enough for a spot higher than 10th place, but it will be enough to stay away from the relegation zone once again.
Brest hasn’t won any of their last 6 games against PSG, and PSG has won all of their home games against Brest. PSG hasn’t lost any of their last 4 games. The trends are on PSG’s side, and they are the better team here in every way. I’m taking PSG and goals here.
