PSG is welcoming FC Nantes to Parc des Princes in round 29 in the French Ligue 1.
PSG is coming fresh off of their Champions League match, and it was a success. PSG has won the first leg, while the second leg ended in a 1-1 draw, and it was enough for PSG to advance to the quarter-finals. In the Ligue 1 standings, PSG is in second place with 60 points, 62 scored goals, and only 17 conceded goals, and with a win here, PSG could take over the top of the table. Mbappe is continuing to play fantastic soccer, and he has now scored 18 goals and added 6 assists. Kean has added 11 goals. Bernat and Neymar are both injured, while Florenzi and Kean are still questionable for this game. Last weekend, PSG was also playing in the French Cup, and they have won that game 0-3. In their last Ligue 1 game, PSG was playing against Bordeaux on the road, and they were solid with 57% of ball possession, 3 shots on goal, 1 corner kick, 1 big chance created, and a decent 88% of the correct passes. PSG has had a lot of good chances in this game, but they were able to score only 1 goal, and it was enough for a 0-1 win. Taking over the top of the table would be cherry at the top to end this week, and I have a feeling PSG will do it.
Nantes is a terrible, terrible team, and they have won only 1 of their last 20 games. Nantes can’t expect to be higher than they are in the standings, and they aren’t. Nantes is in 19th place with 24 points, 28 scored goals, and 44 conceded goals, and they are 3 points away from safety, which is not bad, but Nantes must start winning games. Nantes was hosting Reims in their last Ligue 1 game, and they were decent with 49% of ball possession, 5 shots on goal, 6 corner kicks, 3 big chances created, and 74% of the correct passes. After scoring a leading goal in the 14th minute, it was like Nantes has shut down, and it cost them a lot. Nantes has conceded 2 goals, and they ended up losing this match 1-2. Blas is the leading goalscorer for Nantes with only 7 goals, while Louza added 5 goals. Fabio and Corchia are the only 2 injured players for Nantes at this time. The schedule is getting a little bit easier for Nantes after this game if there is such thing as easier for Nantes, but they are close to safety, and anything is possible in soccer.
PSG has dominated Nantes at home, and I see this domination continuing. Nantes is a bad team in terrible form, while PSG is filled with confidence after knocking Barcelona out of the Champions League. The price on PSG is not great, but if we add goals, the price is getting much better.
