Bayern Munich is welcoming PSG to Allianz Arena in the quarterfinals of the UEFA Champions League.
Bayern is on a 7-game winning streak, and after beating Leipzig in Bundesliga this past weekend, Bayern has most likely won Bundesliga for another season. Bayern has scored 79 goals so far this season in Bundesliga, and they are the best offensive team, by far. In the Champions League, Bayern has knocked out Lazio without much trouble, but they will be missing Lewandowski for this game. Lewandowski has scored 5 goals for Bayern in the Champions League, while Coman and Sane added 3 goals each. Tolisso and Costa are also injured for Bayern Munich. In their last Bundesliga game, Bayern has had 47% of ball possession, which doesn’t happen often, but they have had 5 shots on goal, 4 corner kicks, 7 shots inside the box, and 80% of the correct passes. Despite this not being their best game, Bayern was still able to win 0-1, but only because Leipzig couldn’t score a goal. Alongside Manchester City, Bayern is the biggest favorite to win the Champions League, but they have had less luck in the draw than City, and their journey will be much harder. Bayern is playing well, but missing Lewandowski could prove to be too much for Bayern to handle, at least in the first leg.
PSG has lost 2 of their last 4 games, and with their latest loss in Ligue 1, PSG has once again lost the top spot, and Neymar has earned another red card. PSG has had 65% of ball possession in that game, 3 shots on goal, 5 corner kicks, 1 big chance created, and 87% of the correct passes. PSG has conceded a goal in the 20th minute, and they ended up losing this game 0-1. PSG has scored a lot of goals in the Champions League this season, and Neymar and Mbappe have each scored 6 times, while Mbappe also added 3 assists. Bernat, Florenzi, Verratti, Icardi, and Kurzawa are all injured in PSG. There are a few issues in PSG since Pochettino arrived, and I gotta be honest, it doesn’t look good for them. The biggest problem for PSG is players' discipline, especially Neymar’s, but that is something that the coach can’t solve on his own. PSG was playing in the Champions League finals against Bayern last season, and they ended up losing that game, but at the moment, PSG is not in good shape, they aren’t playing as well as they used to, and I think it might cost them in this matchup.
PSG hasn’t won any of their last 3 games against Bayern, while Bayern hasn’t lost any of their last 32 home games. Bayern is also on a 7-game winning streak at home. Bayern is in better form here, they are playing better soccer, and even without Lewandowski, Bayern is the better team here. I’m taking Bayern and the goals.
