Arsenal is welcoming Slavia Prague to Emirates Stadium in the quarterfinals of the UEFA Europa League.
Arsenal is once again being their old selves, and they haven’t won any of their last 3 games while losing 2 of those 3 games. In their last game against Liverpool in the EPL this past weekend, Arsenal was just horrible. Arsenal has had only 35% of ball possession, 2 shots on goal, 1 corner kicks, 0 big chances created, and 76% of the correct passes. Arsenal was invisible in this game, but they somehow managed to keep their sheet clean in the first half, but it cost them in the second half. Arsenal has lost this game 0-3. In the Europa League, Arsenal has barely squeezed by Olympiacos in the previous stage, but they are here nonetheless. Aubameyang, Willock, Nketiah, and Pepe have each scored 3 goals for Arsenal in the Europa League, while Saka, Willock, and Pepe have each added 3 assists. There are no injuries or suspensions in Arsenal right now. Slavia has already knocked out a few big dogs, and Arsenal is in dangerously bad form, and they will need to be really careful in this game if they want to have a shot at the semifinals.
Slavia is also in fantastic form, and they haven’t lost any of their last 21 games while losing only 1 of their last 30 games. Slavia is the best team in the Czech Republic with 700 scored goals and only 15 conceded goals, and they will win another title this season. Slavia has knocked out Leicester, and then Rangers from the Europa League, but one of their players has been suspended because of racism from their game against Rangers. Slavia was playing against Zbrojavka Brno in their last game, but in addition to resting a few players, Slavia has conceded a red card in the 18th minute, and this match has ended in a 0-0 draw. Sima has scored 4 goals for Slavia in the Europa League this season, while Stanciu and Olayinka have each added 3 assists. Stanciu also added 3 assists. Hovorka, Traore, Kolar, Kudela, and Deli are all injured, and they will miss this game. I know Slavia is in good form, and I know they have done a fantastic job in the Europa League, but it makes me wonder how long Slavia’s good luck can last, especially with all the injuries they have.
Sure, Slavia is in much better form, but we can’t compare the EPL and the Czech national league. According to the bookies, Arsenal is a big favorite here, and I agree. I will take Arsenal at home.
