Strasbourg is welcoming Paris Saint-Germain to Stade de la Meinau in round 32 in the French Ligue 1.
Strasbourg is a decent team, and they are in 13th place with 36 points, which is far away from the relegation zone, but I don’t see them getting any higher. Strasbourg has been in decent form, and they have lost only 2 of their last 7 games while winning their last game against Bordeaux on the road. Strasbourg has had 39% of ball possession in that game, 5 shots on goal, 5 corner kicks, 3 big chances created, and 77% of the correct passes. This was an exciting game, well, at least the first half was. Strasbourg got ahead, and it was 0-3 in the 30th minute. By the end of the first half, Strasbourg has conceded 2 goals, and the halftime result was 2-3. There weren’t any more goals in the second half, and Strasbourg has won this match 2-3. Ajorque is the leading goalscorer for Strasbourg with 12 goals, while Diallo added 8 goals. Simakan, Djiku, Mothiba, and Zohi are all injured for Strasbourg. As I’ve mentioned earlier, Strasbourg has been in solid form lately, but this is the biggest game they have played in weeks, and we will see if Strasbourg can stay on top of their game.
After losing to Lille in Ligue 1 last week, PSG has recovered in the best way, with a win in the Champions League against Bayern. PSG has had only 37% of ball possession in that game, but 5 shots on goal, 1 corner kick, 4 big chances created, and 76% of the correct passes. I think PSG got lucky that Bayern didn’t have Lewandowski in this game. PSG was leading 0-2 in the 28th minute, but Bayern got back in the 60th minute. With Mbappe’s second goal of the night, PSG has won this match 2-3, but the second leg will be really hard. As far as Ligue 1 goes, PSG is in second place with 63 points, 67 scored goals, and 22 conceded goals, but they are only 3 points behind Lille. An interesting thing is that PSG has already lost 8 games in Ligue 1 this season, and they can be pretty lucky they are still in the title race, but the Champions League is their main goal this season, and they are doing well at the moment. With 20 goals and 6 assists, Mbappe is the leading goalscorer for PSG, while Kean added 11 goals. Bernat, Verratti, and Kurzawa are injured, while Icardi and Florenzi are questionable, but they should be ready. I imagine their win against Bayern will lift PSG’s spirits, but they will be without Neymar who is suspended because of the red card.
Strasbourg has won only 4 out of 34 games against PSG, and I see it staying that way. Strasbourg might be in solid form, but PSG will not allow themselves to lose two Ligue 1 games in a row.
