Barcelona is hosting Getafe at Camp Nou in round 33 in the Spanish LaLiga.
With one game less than Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid, Barcelona has a chance to take over the top of LaLiga, and all of a sudden, Barcelona is the biggest favorite to win the title. With 76 scored goals so far, Barcelona is by far the best offensive team in the league, while their defense has been solid with only 29 conceded goals. Barcelona is on a 3-game winning streak during which they scored 11 goals while conceding 3 goals, and they have won Copa del Rey title. In their last game against Villarreal on the road, Barcelona has had 57% of ball possession, 5 shots on goal, 1 corner kick, 6 big chances created, and a high 90% of the correct passes. Barcelona has conceded a goal in the 26th minute, but they turned the game around with 2 goals from Griezmann. Barcelona has won this match 1-2, but we could have seen a lot more goals if teams were more focused on the attacking end. Messi has scored 25 goals and added 8 assists for Barcelona, while Griezmann now has 11 goals and 6 assists to his name. Fati and Coutinho are injured, while Braithwaite and Pjanic are still questionable. The opportunity Barcelona has now doesn’t come often, and I’m pretty sure they will use it, and probably not let it go because Barcelona is playing good soccer on both ends.
Granada has had a couple of wins lately, but they are still a bad team that got to the Europa League quarterfinals purely by luck. In LaLiga, Granada is now in 8th place with 42 points, and they are 7 points away from the Europa League spot, and I honestly don’t see Granada getting there. Granada was playing against Sevilla in their last LaLiga game, and they have had only 36% of ball possession, 2 shots on goal, 5 corner kicks, 1 big chance created, and only 68% of the correct passes. This wasn’t a good game for Granada, and with 1 conceded goal in each half, Granada has lost this game 2-1. Soldado has scored 9 goals for Granada so far this season, while Suarez and Molina added 5 goals each. Puertas has added 5 assists. Lozano, Milla, Silva, Neva, and Vallejo are all injured, while Soro, Duarte, and Sanchez are all still questionable. Granada has had potential at the start of the season, but that is now long gone, and I think Granada will need to be satisfied just by staying in LaLiga.
Granada hasn’t won any of their last 3 games against Barcelona while winning only 2 games against Barcelona overall. Barcelona is on a 5-game winning streak at home. Barcelona also hasn’t conceded a goal in their last 6 home games against Granada. Barcelona is the better team here, they are playing great soccer on both ends, and I see them taking over the top after this match.
