England is hosting Austria at Riverside Stadium in the International Friendly soccer match.

England has finally announced their full lineup for the Euro Cup next week, but the players that are no longer on the list will still be playing in this game. Unfortunately for Watkins, Greenwood, Lingard, and Ward-Prowse, they are among the players that will not be on the list. England has been in good form, they are on a 4-game winning streak, and they have won all 3 of their World Cup qualifications games. During this 4-game winning streak, England has scored 13 goals while conceding only 1 goal, but their opponents were far from the strongest teams in Europe. England is now at the top of their World Qualification group with 9 points. On paper, England looks really well, they are strong on both ends, and they have a fantastic offense, but they have looked the same in the World Cup 3 years ago, and we all know how that ended. As far as the Euro Cup goes, England’s opening game is against Croatia at Webley, and if nothing else, England will have a home-field advantage because fans are allowed to the stadium.

Austria has been playing some of their best soccer lately, but they have lost their last game against Denmark at home. Austria has had 51% of ball possession in that game, 0 shots on goal, 2 corner kicks, 0 big chances created, and a solid 83% of the correct passes. Austria didn’t create a lot of chances in this game, and they lost all the focus on the defensive end in the second half. Austria has lost this match 0-4. In the Euro Cup, Austria is in the group with Netherlands, North Macedonia, and Ukraine, and I would say their chances of getting past the group stage are solid. Austria has a lot of good players, starting with Alaba who just joined Real Madrid, Kalajdzic who is one of the best strikers in Bundesliga, Sabitzer from Leipzig, and a few more players who are in good form in their clubs. Austria is a good team, they are in good form, but they are still not in the World Cup spot in the World Cup qualifications.

This is the game without any actual meaning for either team, but it would be nice to win this game and stay in good form ahead of the Euro Cup. England is the better and deeper team in this matchup, but Austria can score goals. I’m taking the over in this one.
