Italy is hosting Wales at Stadio Olimpico in the final round of Group A in the Euro Cup 2021. Italy is cruising in this tournament, and they now have 2 wins with 6 scored goals and without a conceded goal. Wales has been fighting, and they are now in 2nd place of their group with 1 win and 1 loss, and they could be advancing to the next stage from the second spot.
Italy has been in great form in this tournament, but their good form is going far back. Italy is now on a 10-game winning streak during which they haven’t conceded a single goal, a fantastic accomplishment. So far in this tournament, Italy has been playing the best soccer on both ends, and they are at the top of their group with 6 points. In their last game against Switzerland, Italy has had 49% of ball possession, 3 shots on goal, 3 corner kicks, 5 big chances created, and 86% of the correct passes. With 1 scored goal in the first half, and 2 more scored goals in the second half, Italy has won this game 3-0. Locatelli and Immobile have each scored 2 goals for Italy so far, while Insigne added 1 goal. Toloi, Barella, Berardi, and Immobile each have 1 assist. I gotta say, I just love the way Italy is playing right now, and I think they could go really far in this competition.
Against all odds, Wales has been beating teams in this group, and I didn’t expect it, but Wales will be getting through to the next stage. In their last game, Wales was playing against Turkey, and even though they have had only 37% of ball possession, Wales has had 7 shots on goal, 7 corner kicks, 6 big chances created, and 76% of the correct passes. Bale and Ramsey were working really well together in this game, and Wales has deservedly won this game 0-2, and it would have been more if Bale hadn’t missed a penalty kick. Ramsey, Roberts, and Moore have each scored 1 goal for Wales so far in this tournament, while Bale has 2 assists. As I’ve mentioned earlier, Wales is now in second place in this group, and they will most likely stay there which is a fantastic result for them. There are no injuries in Wales, but I still think they don’t have enough depth to compete with the big dogs, and this game against Italy will be their test.
Italy will most likely rest some players, but they will surely go for the win because if they lose, Wales will take over the top spot, and that wouldn’t sit well with Italy. It has been a while since these two teams played against each other, but the trends are on Italy’s side, actually, everything is on Italy’s side. I think this will be a fun game where both teams will try to attack, but Italy will dominate and win this game to nil because their defense is outstanding.
