Brazil and Ivory Coast are clashing at Nissan Stadium in round 2 of Group D in the Olympics 2021 soccer tournament. Brazil is now on a 3-game winning streak, and they have justified the role of the favorite in their first game of this tournament with a nice win. Ivory Coast has some solid players, but they have had a tough game against Saudi Arabia.
Brazil has had a tough first game in this tournament, but they have come out guns blazing against Germany, and they have deservedly won that game. Brazil has had 52% of ball possession, 14 shots on goal, 6 corner kicks, 8 big chances created, and a solid 85% of the correct passes. Germany has a solid team, but Brazil has made them look like children, and they have won this match 4-2. Richarlison has scored a hat-trick for Brazil in the first half, while Paulinho scored 1 goal in the second half. Germany was able to score 2 goals, but they also conceded a red card. The final result was 4-2 in favor of Brazil. With 3 goals, Richarlison is the leading goalscorer for Brazil and the leading goalscorer of the tournament. Of all the teams, Brazil has shown the most in the first game, and I wouldn’t be surprised if they go all the way.
I mentioned in my previous article about Ivory Coast they are good enough to get through the group stage, and they confirmed that. Ivory Coast was playing against Saudi Arabia in their first match, and they have had 42% of ball possession, 2 shots on goal, 2 corner kicks, 1 big chance created, and 82% of the correct passes. Ivory Coast got ahead in the 39th minute, but just 5 minutes later, Saudi Arabia has tied the score. In the 66th minute, Kessie has scored a goal, and that was enough for Ivory Coast to win this game 2-1. They have also conceded a red card, and Doumbia will miss this game because of it. Ivory Coast is now in 2nd place with 3 points, and I think another point might be enough for them to advance to the next stage, but a win will get them through for sure. Kessie is the only goalscorer for Ivory Coast with 1 goal so far. This is a solid team with a couple of experienced players, and I think they can be a threat to any team in this tournament, Brazil included.
I think this will be a tight game, but everything is on Brazil’s side in this matchup. Ivory Coast can create chances, and they might even score here, but I gotta got with Brazil because they showed the most in this tournament, and they looked great against Germany.
