Borussia Dortmund and Eintracht Frankfurt are clashing at Signal Iduna Park in round 1 of the German Bundesliga. Borussia might have lost one of their best players in the offseason, but they are still a good team capable of competing for the title. Eintracht has also lost their best goalscorer in the offseason, and their head coach and their form has been sloppy lately.

Borussia ended last season in 3rd place with 64 points, but that was enough for them to qualify for the Champions League. With 75 scored goals, Dortmund was a second-best offensive team in the league, but they were inconsistent, and that has cost them a lot of points. In their DFB Pokal match last week, Borussia has easily won that game 0-3. After selling Sancho to Manchester United for 100 million Euros, Borussia has signed Malen, one of the best players of the Euro Cup this summer, and Kobel from Stuttgart. Schmelzer, Zagadou, Brandt, Meunier, Hummels, Wolf, and Coulibaly are all injured, and most of these players will miss this game. With Haaland leading their offense, Borussia is an extremely dangerous team, and I think they will be competing for the title in Bundesliga once again, but they need to break that mental barrier that keeps knocking them back season after season.

Eintracht was fantastic last season, but after losing their head coach and their top striker Andre Silva to Leipzig, I’m not sure how will this season look for them. Sure, Eintracht has signed a few good players, starting from Hauge who arrived from Milan, but I don’t think it will be enough. In the preseason, Eintracht was decent with 3 wins and 2 losses, but they ended up losing their DFB Pokal match last weekend. Toure and Rode are the only 2 injured players for Eintracht Frankfurt. Marco Rose has a tough job ahead of him as the new head coach in Eintracht, and after ending last season in 5th place with 60 points, just 1 point under the Champions League zone, the expectations are high this season. Eintracht will also be playing in the Europa League this season, and their defense will be stretched thin because that is their weakest part. Offensively, I think Eintracht will be solid, but they will have a tough time scoring the same number of goals as last season.

Dortmund has won their last 6 home games, while Eintracht has lost 4 away games in a row. Neither team has a solid defense, but they both have plenty of offense, and for that reason, I see goals in this game, a lot of them.
