Chelsea vs. Crystal Palace 8/14/21 Premier League Soccer Pick, Odds, and Predictions

Chelsea and Crystal Palace face off on Saturday in their first English Premier League game of the season at Stamford Bridge.. Chelsea has won the last seven games over Crystal Palace including the last game by a final score of 4-1. 

Chelsea finished fourth last year in the Premier League but they have a new man in charge in Patrick Vieira. Chelsea during the offseason brought in Romelu Lukaku and Marcus Bettinelli. Lukaku was just signed and will miss this game, but the striker should play a huge role on this team this season. Chelsea did play a midweek game against Villarreal for the UEFA Super Cup Final, and it took penalty kicks, but Chelsea was able to take home the crown. Chelsea looks to be very healthy coming into this game with the only other player missing being Hakim Ziyech who suffered an injury in the last game. In this game, Chelsea needs to push numbers forward, and try to put the pressure on Crystal Palace. 

On the other side of this matchup is Crystal Palace who have made a whole lot of changes this offseason. Out is Roy Hodgson and in is Kristian Wilson who hopes to bring Crystal Palace back to more success. Crystal Palace was also busy bringing in players like of Marc Guehi, Joachim Andersen, Michael Olise, Remi Matthews, Jacob Montes and Conor Gallagher. Crystal Palace has played five exhibitions coming into this game and in the last game against Watford they were impressive winning 3-1. 

Crystal Palace might have a bit of confidence heading into this matchup, but this isn’t a game they are going to find a whole lot of success in. I expect Chelsea’s offense is going to get whatever they want in this game, and it will get out of control early. Chelsea will score at least four goals in this game, and win this game -2.5.
