Udinese and Juventus are clashing at Dacia Arena in round 1 of the Italian Serie A. Udinese will have a tough time this season because they have sold some players, but I think they are good enough to avoid the relegation zone. Juventus has failed in Serie A and the Champions League last season, but they have a new coach now, and they will look better.

Udinese has won 3 of their 5 preseason games, and they have been scoring a decent number of goals, but I’m afraid they won’t have enough quality or depth this season. Udinese has ended last season in 14th place with 42 scored goals, 58 conceded goals, and 40 points. Nestorovski is now the only injured player for Udinese. If I were to select one player from Udinese, that would be Gerard Deulofeu, a former Barcelona player who has a lot of experience, and if injuries avoid him, he will have a solid season. I’m not sure what the expectations are in Udinese, but I think the middle of the table is where they belong, and where they will end up.

Juventus is eager to be back at the top of Serie A, and with Allegri as the head coach, they are more than capable of doing that. Juventus has played 4 preseason games, and they have won 3 while losing 1 game. Juventus has scored 8 goals in those 4 games while conceding 6 goals, at least 1 in each game. After ending last season in 4th place, and getting knocked out early in the Champions League, Juventus has barely qualified for the Champions League this season. this Juventus’ team is stacked with talent and power, they are solid on both ends, but Rabiot is injured, Arthur is questionable, while McKennie is suspended because of the yellow cards. Juventus has signed a few players in the offseason, mostly defenders, and let’s be honest, that is what they needed. Allegri was coaching Juventus before, and he was successful, and there is no reason to think he will fail this time because he has a solid team, he has great players, and he is a great coach. The Champions League is the main goal, but I’m sure Juventus would be more than happy with the Serie A title as well.

The trends are heavily on Juventus’ side in this matchup, and they haven’t lost any of their last 5 games on the road. Udinese has had some success at home against Juventus, but not much, and I don’t see that changing here.
