Burnley vs. Arsenal 9/18/21 Premier League Soccer Pick, Odds, and Predictions

Burnley and Arsenal face off on Saturday in an English Premier League showdown at the Turf Moor. When these two teams last faced off in March, the game was played to a 1-1 draw. 

Arsenal comes into this game sitting in 16th place in the standings having picked up only three points. This is a team that needs to win soon or there could be some big changes happening with the club. Arsenal has losses already this season to Brentford, Chelsea, and Manchester City. In the last game though, Arsenal finally got a win over Norwich City. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored the goal in the 66th minute, and then the defense locked down for a 1-0 victory. Arsenal had 30 shots but only seven went on target. Arsenal’s defense also only allowed one shot on goal. The defense for Arsenal at times has been an issue this season, and they need to be better in this game. 

On the other side of this matchup is Burnley who sits in 18th place in the standings having picked up one point. That point came two games ago against Leeds United, a game that ended 1-1. In the last game against Everton, Burnley opened up the scoring with a goal by Ben Mee in the 53rd minute. Burnley looked to be in good shape to come away with a victory, but they gave up three goals in a six-minute stretch, starting with a goal in the 60th minute. Burnley hasn’t scored more than a goal in any of their games this season, and if they don’t want to be relegated, they are going to need to find more offensive success. 

I don’t think Arsenal is that much better team than Burnley, but they are still better. Burnley’s offense is an issue, and it’s going to be what lets them down in this game. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is going to score a goal and Arsenal will win this game on the money line.
