Southampton vs. Wolves 9/26/21 Premier League Soccer Pick, Odds, and Predictions

Southampton and the Wolves face off on Sunday in an English Premier League showdown at St. Mary’s Stadium. When these two teams faced off in February the Wolves came away with the 2-1 victory. 

On the other side of this matchup is Southampton who sit in 17th place in the standings having picked up four points. Southampton has played to four straight draws, and each of the last two games has been 0-0. The last game was against Manchester City, and it was impressive how good the defense looked. Southampton only had 36 percent of the possession, but they only allowed one shot on goal. Southampton has only scored four goals this year, but the defense has only given up six. No one on the team has scored more than a goal. In this game it’s going to be about the defense locking down. 

On the other side of this matchup is the Wolves who sit in 19th place in the standings with three picks. The Wolves like to play a defense first style and that doesn’t lead to a lot of good scoring chances. In the last game, against Brentford, the defense was an issue giving up two goals. The Wolves have scored only two gaols this season total while their defense has given up five. Both of the goals came two games ago, and if they want to turn this season around they need to start taking more chances to get more goal scoring going. They can’t keep leaning on the defense to bail them out.

Neither of these teams is going to get a whole lot of scoring chances, and that is going to lead to the under cashing. I am also going to be throwing a few dollars on the exact score being 0-0. I really like both of these plays a lot.
